Essential Questions-Unit:
Constitution and Early Republic Eras
Directions:
At the beginning of each unit I will assign two essential questions about the topic or unit that we will be covering. The questions are thought provoking and can be answered correctly by using what you have learned throughout the unit. You will be turning in your paper electronically via this form. Below is a snapshot of the requirements.
- Name and class period must be written in the upper left corner
- The Questions must be written out above each response
- The responses must be turned in on the same sheet of paper-uploaded as one file (writing on the front and back is fine)
- 12 point font
- 1 inch margins(most pages are defaulted to this)
- Minimum--as close as possible to a 1/2 page typed for each question
Weekly Agenda:
Week 9-10/17-10/21
Monday- Students will learn about the Articles of Confederation (Articles Handout and Articles PowerPoint) HW- If Poster isn't completed in class
Tuesday-Students will learn about the Northwest Ordinance(Articles PowerPoint and Reading--> No digital copy) HW- If mini advertisement isn't completed in class
Wednesday- Students will learn about the events of the Constitutional Convention- No digital copy of Reading and handout
Thursday- Students will participate in a simulation of the Constitutional Convention- No digital copy available
Friday- Students will complete the simulation of the Constitutional Convention

Week 10-10/24-10/28

Thursday- Students will learn about Federalist and Anti-Federalists-note & questions (Federalists v. Antifederalists PowerPoint and Handout)

Week 11-10/31-11/4
Monday- Review Quiz from last week and begin a graded worksheet from Friday's information (No digital copy available)
Tuesday- Bill of Rights notes and gestures to help remember the amendments (Early Release-No digital copy available)
Wednesday- Review Bill of Rights notes and examine cases to see which ones match up to the amendment (no digital copy available)
Thursday- Begin examining the Principles of the Constitution-notes and complete a card sort (no digital copy available)
Friday- Independent practice of the the Principles by reading examples and determining which principle it matches (no digital copy available)
Week 12- 11/7-11/11
Monday- Fill out mock voter registration cards and begin Constitution test review
Tuesday- Complete Constitution test review
Wednesday- Constitution Test
Thursday- Complete test and begin Acrostic
Friday- Test Review and new goal sheet
Week 13- 11/14-11/18
Monday- Washington's Presidency- Reading Assignment and Notes (Early Republic Handout/Whiskey Rebellion Reading)
Tuesday- Compete Washington Notes & create a report card for him
Wednesday- Reading and Question Assignment (Teacher will not be here today)
Thursday- Jefferson;s Presidency- Notes (Early Republic Handout)
Friday- Complete Jefferson's Presidency notes
